History/The Story: Sicamous Car Show & Shine

  • Managed by two local enthusiasts the show initially started as a small collection of cars that were exhibited in the Rec Centre.

  • The show evolved over 10 years, managed by two local enthusiasts.

  • A lot of the resourcing of assets and people was centric on the Rec Centre.

  • In 2017, the original directors, George and Wayne announced they would no longer manage the car show.

  • All remaining amounts of money were channeled back to the society for donations.

  • The historic statistics indicate the participant count was about 200 vehicles (a small drop to 186 in 2017) and 1200 spectators.

  • Worth noting is that some in the community suggest the car show is a symbolic start to the summer season for Sicamous.

Update:

Along with the directors we have organized a support committee incorporating 8 additional resources for planning and execution, today we have held 2 meetings.

The society is worked with a local vendor (inkx) to produce hardcopy posters, draw tickets, and various other collateral materials.

Through the resources of SysGen,  we have secured the domain name www.sicamousshowandshine.com incorporated a new logo, and constructed the basic building blocks of a website.

The directors have met with nearly 10 local businesses (8-hour exercise) to present and discuss sponsorship, in addition, we have solicited great feedback.
